this little stop is KILLER. ive lived in and out of antioch for about 20 years now, and i have never tried this place. a couple days ago, i met a gentleman on a gas station adventure, and he was so kind, and answered a couple questions i had about char dogs.
i decided to stop in today, and was greeted by two lovely ladies. one being the owner. they were both so kind, and sweet during the entire interaction.
going into the food: i was craving a polish, so i ventured out into the flood lands. char dogs did NOT disappoint!!!
i got the chi style hot dog, a polish, and fries with cheese on the side.
the chi dog was absolutely PERFECT (i got it without celery salt due to preference .) the tomatoes were so incredibly juicy. coearly hand picked one by one as they are beautifully red, juicy and have the perfect bite. the relish is nice and green - typical chi relish yum! the pickles and onions complemented it so well. then we roll to the sport peppers. im a wimp so i take small bites but SO complementary to the entire dog. WOW! i always stuck with antioch pizza for hot dogs, but these ladies blew them out of the water.
the polish. this was the show stopper for me. the first bite was INCREDIBLE. my eyes widened, and i went “whoa.”. ive always been a huge fan of polishes. and this classic blew me away. absolutely what i needed today!!! onions and mustard is the way to go.
the fries. the owner wasnt joking when she said they were HOT! i live 5 minutes away. these suckers were still on fire!!! but i will say - they are perfectly fried. nice and crispy with some being soft and tender. and the cheese sauce oh man. super thick and extra cheesy!!!
i will absolutely be making this my weekly stop when i can for lunch. thank you ladies and gents!!!

Finally stopped for a Chicago dog an absolute worth it ,the lady was super friendly,my food was fresh and hot and best Chicago dog I have had in a long time,fries are outstanding, definitely going back
